Getting Here

Coming from Sofia or Serbia, take the Trakia Highway (A1) toward Plovdiv / Burgas. Follow the signs for Karlovo, then continue on Road 64. After about 50 km, you’ll reach Banya, just before Karlovo.

Turn into town — local signs will guide you easily to Banya Camp & Mineral SPA.

As a landmark, look for the Banya railway station — from there, it’s just a short turn, and you’re home.

For a more scenic drive, follow the Sub-Balkan Road (E871) from Sofia toward Varna / Burgas.

The route winds through forests, valleys, and mountain bridges — and Koprivshtitsa is a beautiful stop for coffee or lunch.

From Greece

If arriving from Thessaloniki via the Kulata (Schengen) border, take Highway A3 toward Sofia.

We recommend stopping at the Rila Monastery — one of Bulgaria’s most iconic landmarks. As you approach Sofia, leave the highway at Dragichevo/Vladaya, reach the ring road, and follow the Sofia directions listed above.

From Turkey

The main entry point from Edirne is Kapitan Andreevo. Follow the highway toward Plovdiv, then take the Karlovo exit (Road 64) as described in Option 1.

From Romania

Entry via the bridges at Ruse or Vidin, or via the ferry Călărași–Silistra. Follow routes south to reach the Plovdiv–Karlovo corridor, then take Road 64 into Banya.

Road Toll (Vignette)

Road toll is mandatory outside towns. Cameras automatically detect your license plate. We advise purchasing the vignette before entering Bulgaria:

Take the Sofia–Karlovo–Burgas line.

From Sofia, the trip to Karlovo is about 2 hours, then just 20 minutes more to Banya.

From Plovdiv, every train to Karlovo stops in Banya — you’ll be minutes away from the camp.

At Banya Station, simply cross the rails, turn right, then left — and you’ve arrived.
